Kathu Gazette Newspaper

The Kathu Gazette is a tabloid-sized, full-colour weekly community newspaper   Kathu Gazette, based in Kathu, is a weekly newspaper that appears on Fridays. News; sport; and advertisements appear in Afrikaans; English; and/or Setswana. The number of pages vary from 12 to 20 pages, depending on the number and sizes of advertisements received.

A success story like that of the Kathu Gazette is few and far between in the Kalahari. Similar to stories like those, the Kathu Gazette also had humble beginnings, before establishing itself as the region’s preferred mouthpiece for conveying messages in and around the local communities.

04 October 2008 the website launched officially – making the Kathu Gazette the first and only regional newspaper in the Northern Cape to boast a website.  Due to public demand, the weekly print run will have to be increased soon, making the Kathu Gazette the biggest regional newspaper in the Kalahari.
